If you agree with me, you’re in luck. Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, in Novi, becomes an outdoor concert venue again starting next week. That’s when the third annual Summer Sidewalk Series kicks off. This year, the concerts move from Saturdays to Thursdays, from 5-8 p.m. in the center court roundabout.
The series’ music genres range from pop to rock to country to Jimmy Buffett covers. And if you need to take a break from the music, at the same time as the concerts, artists will be giving demonstrations and selling their work; children will also have a dedicated space for art activities.

The music kicks off with folk rock artists Jill Jack Duo next Thursday. The rest of the schedule: June 9, Beth Stalker and Jim Rawlings (pop rock); June 16, Robin Horlock (pop rock); June 23, Okie Dokie Stompers (blues); June 30, Kitty Cougar (pop); July 7, Apollo (indie rock); July 14, Angela Predhomme Duo (pop); July 21, Don Swindell Quartet (jazz); July 28, Randy Brock (rock); Aug. 4, Robin Moore Band (pop country); Aug. 11, Gia Warner Duo (rock); Aug. 18, The Reasons Y (classic rock); Aug. 25, Leaky Tiki’s (Jimmy Buffett covers).
So bring a chair and plan to make an evening of it at Fountain Walk, with its selection of restaurants and other places to visit before and during the concerts.
Tell us what you think — are any of your favorite bands on the list? Have you seen any of them live before, and what did you think? Let us know!
